New England Dragway is mourning the loss of New England Dragway Tech Director Buddy Scurto. He died on Friday, October 25. Buddy has been part of the New England Dragway program since the track opened in 1966. He spent many years racing his favorite marquee, Mopar, in a variety of classes. Several years ago Buddy decided to step away from active racing and focus on safety by taking over as the track’s Tech Director. New England Dragway General Manager Joe Lombardo notes, “Buddy was recognized as one of the most knowledgeable tech inspectors on the east coast. He was tough, but fair. He was a great friend and at times a mentor. I’m certain the entire drag racing community will miss him as much as Nancy and I.” Arrangements for Buddy can be found by following this link.
